The Wildlife Rehab & Education Center celebrates its third anniversary and launches a brand new website on October 22nd from 5pm to 7:30pm at 7007 Katy Road.
Sponsors, volunteers and veterinarians will be honored while the public gets a rare behind the scenes look at WR&E and can witness firsthand as they move into the future of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. Soon WR&E will be blogging, tweeting, blasting, and making appearances on Facebook thanks to Renaya, a website resource company which has made it possible for WR&E to connect on a global level. The newly remodeled website, www.WRandE.org, will give wildlife enthusiasts a completely interactive experience as they learn more about WR&E and how to support native wildlife in their area. WR&E is also thankful to their longtime supporter, Chevron for their generous donation of a 2009 twelve-person van which will be used to transport the Edu-Ambassadors to include their great horned owl and peregrine falcon to environmental education events. It will also allow the WR&E Oiled Response Team and volunteers to travel to wildlife response workshops. In addition, Chevron has also donated many supplies and their employees have worked hard to build more flight cages. This year several exciting items including a family membership from the Houston Zoo, Watercolor Portrait of a pet by Artist Carol Wells and a 30-gal. Tree from RCW Nurseries Inc., will be awarded to lucky ticket holders. Tickets can be purchased by e-mail to SharonSchmalz@wrande.org or at the door for just $10.
