Two words we hate to see together...Time's Up and Adoption Return. In the past week we have been saddened to see some of our old friends behind the bars at BARC again.
We always hope when one of our dogs or cats gets adopted they go on to live happily ever after. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. Too often people don't give their new pet time to adjust to its new home or they don't get proper training. Sometimes they leave it in their backyard 24/7 and don't understand why it keeps digging out and running away. Many of this week's BARC STARZ are back at BARC or their time is up! Won't you please consider giving them another chance at the happy forever home they deserve? HERSHEY'S TIME IS UP! Hershey has the beautiful chocolate color of a Labrador, but the thick fur and bushy tail of a Husky and one blue and one brown eye. HERSHEY also has lots of energy--Lots and lots of energy! He will need an active home where he gets plenty of exercise and has lots to do. When you meet him he'll be hopping around in his kennel like mad, but that's just because he's so happy to see you he can't wait to get out and make friends. He really loves people and can't stand being locked up in a cage at BARC. HERSHEY is still a youngster at just a year old. He's had all his shots and tested heartworm negative. All he needs now is a home! Look for HERSHEY at BARC in South A Ward, I.D. number A0998298. If you have questions about HERSHEY or need help finding him at BARC, please email Elizabeth at evitek@yahoo.com. SPACE IS LIMITED FOR THE BARC CATS, TOO. PLEASE CONSIDER ADOPTING A BARC CAT. JEANNIE is applying for the position of Cat Room Greeter. She definitely has what it takes. She is a very social girl that loves everybody, including kids. If you let her, she'll climb right up your leg and say hello! In addition to cuddling and snuggling, JEANNIE likes to play and be silly. She's just about a year old so she has plenty of kitten left in her. This pretty tuxedo cat has a perfect white bib and stunning green eyes. She is spayed and microchipped. Come to BARC and say hello to JEANNIE! Look for JEANNIE at BARC in the open adoption room in the North Building, ID number A0998702. Meet all this week's BARC STARZ! HAPPY TAILS... Two of our favorite Starz were adopted last Saturday: TURTLE and MYRTLE! TURTLE was adopted by a nice family at HAPI's adoption event at the Blue Line Bike Lab, and MYRTLE was adopted by an employee of the city fire department. MYRTLE'S new name is Pearl, but it's just not as fun to say as TURTLE and MYRTLE. MARCO the little rascal was adopted at BARC, as were two of our kitty Starz, BLANCA and MINX. Big ol' MS FUZZ was saved by a rescue group. __________________________________ UPCOMING EVENTS... GOOD NEWS: WAGS TO WHISKERS WILL NOW BE HELD 4 TIMES A MONTH!
