Dog Day at Minute Maid Park will include a pre-game pooch parade and dog costume contest.
The ceremonial "first fetch" will be by Daizy, a dog that went missing during Hurricane Ike and was reunited with her family 10 months later.
You need a special ticket if you plan to bring your pooch. They sell for $20 and $10 will go to the Houston Humane Society.
The ticket gets you access to the Barking Room Only section along Conoco Alley and the H-E-B Dog Zone featuring Hill Country Fare dog food.
If your hound prefers a hot dog, that's OK too.
All dogs will have to remain on a leash. They must be at least 6 months old, under 80 pounds and "friendly" with people and fellow dogs.
