Top 10 Reasons to Adopt a Cat - The flood of felines in spring and summer creates urgent need for loving homes.
"Every spring and summer, cats reproduce in record numbers, and millions end up in animal shelters," said Marie Belew Wheatley, president and CEO of American Humane. "American Humane encourages people to help relieve inundated animal shelters by adopting a cat or kitten during Adopt-A-Cat Month this June." Top 10 Reasons to Adopt a Cat
The Houston SPCA is celebrating this event with half price adoptions on ALL dogs, cats and rabbits. Half price adoptions will also allow you to adopt two animals of the same species for the price of one! All animals who are adopted from the Houston SPCA are spayed / neutered; dewormed; vaccinated against rabies if they are three months of age or older; have received their first round of vaccinations, and are microchipped with a free lifetime registration. Dogs are also tested for canine heartworm disease and cats are tested for feline leukemia. In addition, every animal receives a Complimentary Wellness Exam and a Limited Health Care Guarantee to a VCA Animal Hospital worth up to $500 to treat minor health issues within 14-days after adoption. "We are committed to providing the best quality of preventive health care possible for every animal in our care. The medical care our animals receive would cost over $300 at a private veterinary facility. This makes adoptions at full price a bargain! Since our number one priority is finding new forever homes for each and every animal on our adoption floor, we are more than happy to offer adoptions at half price during one of our busiest months of the year," says Dr. Teri Schweiss, Vice President of Animal Welfare at the Houston SPCA. In order to adopt an animal from the Houston SPCA you must fill out an application and become an approved adopter. Horses and farm animals will remain the standard price and are available for adoption by appointment only. Don't miss this chance to find your forever furry friend at the Houston SPCA. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |
