CROSBY, Texas--The Houston SPCA recently seized a 23-year-old, malnourished chimpanzee from a home in Crosby, Texas. The chimp, named Henry, was found living in a filthy cage littered with soda cans, cigarettes and trash. Investigators learned he'd been living in those conditions for the past 15 years. When he was found, Henry was so weak he could hardly stand and weighed only 60 pounds. Upon his emergency medical evaluation, doctors discovered Henry was suffering from a bacterial infection of the stomach, among other maladies. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
Poor Henry!! I cant imagine what his life was like all these many years! Oh yes I can - it must have been a living H-ll!!!
Henry - please know that not all humans care for creatures in this manner and that there are lots of humans who have shed tears for the life you were forced to live!
I have yet to hear how the spca was alerted to Henry's living conditions or that the people responsible for his treatment will face charges! Please do a followup so that we know that justice is being served! Also so that we know how Henry does when a new home (sanctuary) is found for him!
