The pet-friendly Houston Pavilions is hosting a "Home for the Holidays" animal adoption center each weekend through Dec. 28.
The pet-friendly Houston Pavilions (1201 Fannin St., Houston 77002) is hosting a "Home for the Holidays" animal adoption center Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 28. Organized by Friends of BARC Inc., a non-profit corporation that supports the humane care and treatment of the animals in the City of Houston Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC), the center will have kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs for adoption. All animals are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All proceeds will benefit Friends of BARC, Inc. as well as local-area non-profits Pup Squad Animal Rescue and Red Collar Rescue, which provide food for animals in the city's adoption program and funds other animal needs including spay/neuter surgeries, medications, test kits, veterinary supplies and foster care. The adoption center is located on the first floor next to Forever 21 and across from Books-A-Million. Parking is available in the Houston Pavilions garage, 1301 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77002. The entrance is located on Clay between Main and Fannin streets. Hours are are Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm and Sundays 12 pm to 4 pm. Volunteer positions are available for dog walkers, adoption counselors and volunteers to play with the animals.
