Houston notables Joanne King Herring, Dana Tyson, and Houston Astros' wives grace the pages of the chic new calendar benefiting, SNAP (Spay-Neuter Assistance Program, Inc.).
This holiday season, give your friends, family and loved-ones the gift that truly gives back to the community, the SNAPshots Calendar, a chic fashion calendar benefiting SNAP (Spay-Neuter Assistance Program). With more than 200 animals being euthanized in Houston daily, Brett Chisholm, Chloe Dao and Elaine Turner have joined forces to change this startling statistic and improve the lives of Harris County animals. Longtime supporters of SNAP, the trio knew partnering with the charity would be the best way to make an impact and truly address the area's growing animal overpopulation crisis. The calendar features Houston-area celebrities Joanne King Herring, Dana Tyson and several Houston Astros' Wives, to name a few. Purchasing the chic SNAPshots Calendar is an easy and affordable way for Houstonians to raise much-needed funds that will enable SNAP to further provide spay and neuter assistance to countless deserving families who want to provide the best for their companion animals, but lack the financial resources. SNAP has proven to be a great fit for the designers and award-winning photographer. The organization's commitment to stopping the cycle of animal overpopulation and the community services SNAP provides has inspired the trio to do all they can to assist in furthering their mission. "Animal overpopulation is a needless tragedy, that, while difficult to solve on a grand scale, is so simple to solve on a personal level," said Stephen Brownlow, executive director of SNAP. "By providing free and low cost spay-neuter and wellness services, we are giving everyone access to quality services and educating the public of the benefits of sterilization. Our goal is to ensure that everyone understands the role of spay-neuter as a means to solving the problem and to make sure that SNAP provides access to those means. When I see those struggling to make ends meet standing in line at our mobile clinics because they want to provide all they can for their animal, I know that we are accomplishing our goal." The SNAPshots Calendar has evolved into a true community initiative as well. "When we first started to toss around the idea for the calendar, we were all amazed at the interest from individuals and corporations who wanted to partner with us to benefit SNAP," said Brett Chisholm. "Without the support of our partners, none of this would have been possible. We owe special thanks to The Business Lab, Elan Styles, Makeup by Wendy, Leifer's, Hair by Pattie, Bella Creature Comforts, Get Along Little Doggie, Houston Dog Blog, Friends For Life, The Houston Astros Wives, Page Parkes Center for Modeling and the incomparable Joanne King Herring for their commitment to making this project a reality," Chisholm added. The SNAPshots Calendar is available now and can be purchased by visiting the www.snapus.org, as well as www.brettchisholm.com, www.lot8online.com, www.elaineturner.com and www.houstondogblog.com. Retail sites include Lot 8 and the soon-to-open Elaine Turner Boutique, both located in Rice Village.
