The Houston SPCA evacuated 55 animals from the Brazoria County SPCA and moved them to Houston to wait out Hurricane Ike. Chief Cruelty Investigator Charles Jantzen and his team of Randy Farmer and Debbie Michielson transported all the animals from the Brazoria County SPCA to the shelter in Houston. The new arrivals were warmly greeted by the animal care team. Many of the 45 dogs and 10 cats and kittens will quickly be placed for adoption! Another 100 animals are expected to arrive this morning from the Galveston Island Humane Society. The Houston SPCA is grateful for the assistance of its adoption partners around the state of Texas who have agreed to accept more than 100 of their adorable adoptables on Thursday morning and place them into their adoption programs. This will free up space at the Houston SPCA shelter for animal refugees and storm victims. |
