And, by the end of the five hour broadcast on The CW39 (KIAH-TV), over $300,000 was raised through the generosity of the community.

Hours before the live broadcast, the parking lot at the Houston SPCA was at capacity, leaving a line of parked cars that stretched into the street. Inside the shelter, hundreds of eager adopters busily moved through the hallways in hopes of finding that one special family member to take home. Celebrity pet photographer, Jim Dratfield was on hand to take memorable pictures as a part of the "Hills Second Chance for Love," promotion. One dog by the name of Chance, who had called the Houston SPCA his home for the last ten months has now been adopted into a great home where he is getting the "chance," he deserves. The event was a win - win success story for animals like Chance and for funding to help those like him in the future.

The Houston SPCA is thankful to everyone in the community, the volunteers and the host of local celebrities who came together to help homeless and abused animals find a happy ending to their story. All the money raised during the Houston SPCA Pet Telethon will stay in the community for the community. There are still many adorable, homeless animals who are up for adoption and you can find them at 900 Portway Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. The Houston SPCA is open from 11am to 8 pm, 7 days a week.
