The Houston SPCA Announces the 2008 Adoption Stimulus Package

On Saturday August 23, 2008 between 11 am and 8 pm, the Houston SPCA is encouraging residents of the greater Houston area looking for a friend for life to take advantage of the first-ever, "Houston SPCA Adoption Stimulus Package!"

For the first time in the organization's history, ALL canine, feline and rabbit adoptions will be generously underwritten in part by Hill's Science Diet. That means approved adopters can take home up to two canines, felines or rabbits at no charge in celebration of The 14th Annual Houston SPCA Pet Telethon.

The 14th Annual Houston SPCA Pet Telethon will be held on Saturday, August 23, from 3-8 p.m. and broadcast "live" from the shelter on The CW39 (KIAH-TV) During the 5-hour event, the Houston SPCA's goal is to place every adorable, adoptable homeless canine, feline and rabbit at the shelter into a new and loving permanent responsible home. In addition to saving innocent lives, the Houston SPCA Pet Telethon draws a host of local celebrities who come together to graciously volunteer their time and talent to help all animals in need. The Houston SPCA Pet Telethon is guaranteed to entertain viewers with heartwarming stories of adoptions and dramatic rescues and features adorable, adoptable pets every hour.

All the money raised during the Houston SPCA Pet Telethon remains in the community, for the community. The Houston SPCA is a private, non-profit donor-funded organization that does not receive any funding from the government, United Way, or national animal organizations.

WOW! What an event! I missed it! I hope that it went well and that lots of furbabies were placed in loving forever homes! Any news on how the event went and how many furbabies were adopted?
