Ginger's Mom has passed away and Ginger needs a home immediately!
Ginger is a sweet natured 6-7 year old spayed female Boxer mix weighing between 55-65 pounds. She is a healthy dog and has always lived outside in a fenced area with a large dog house for shelter. She is not house broken nor has she ever been around children. All vaccinations are currently up to date. If you are interested in adopting Ginger please contact PAWSHouston (Pets Are Wonderful Support) as soon as possible. PAWSHouston "PAWS Houston - A DIFFERENT KIND OF MEDICINE" PAWS Houston is a non-profit organization that helps sustain relationships between pet owner and their pets through a period of the owner's terminal and/or chronic illness both in the hospital and at home. Additionally, PAWS Houston provides in-home client care that includes annual wellness visits, food, exercise, heartworm and flea preventative, emergency boarding and foster care. 6 CommentsLeave a comment |
This would be a good time to remind people that you MUST make provisions for your pets in the event of your death. Too many times I have seen someone's much loved pet sent to a kill shelter because the family just didn't want "to be bothered" or "hated cats" or "had kids", etc. etc. Making a codicil to your will is easy enough to do. Also, in Texas you can make a holographic Will that is legal and binding, so no need to pay attorneys. Information about what language you need to include in a holographic Will can he found online.
Thanks for the information Taylor. You are so right. This should be a reminder for people to make provisions for their pets in the event of their death. It's so sad the pets that do end up in shelters because of the reasons you mentioned.
I believe that the SPCA and other rescue organizations have information on their sites about planning for your pet in the event of your death.
Stacy, could Animal Attraction do a story about this topic with tips and resources to help people with planning for their pet? Thanks!
Best wishes Ginger. I hope and pray that someone comes forward and gives you a loving forever home soon! I know you're sad and confused and miss your owner.
This just breaks my heart, so sad.
How very sad for Ginger - my heart breaks for her too! I hope that someone steps up and saves Ginger!! And I hope that she is saved by someone who will bring her inside their home and let her be part of their family - even though that means they will have to housetrain her!! She is such a beautiful soul!!
And Stacey - if you do a story as Melody suggested - could you highlight Ginger's plight so that a good samaritan can help her???
Thanks, Taylor, for a great post and Melody and Donna for an excellent idea. I will do some research and put together a complete story for Monday. I'll also keep you updated on Ginger!!
Thanks Stacy!!!!
Thanks, Stacy!!
