Some of you may know we try to highlight one or two dogs a week that are at the end of their stay. Dogs can only be held for 90 days due to space reasons. We'd like to extend a big thank you to everyone who offered to help Angel, our 90 day dog of the week from last week. We are happy to report that a wonderful lady read about her and adopted her!! Thank you to everyone who offered to help this sweet dog!

We have two 90 day dogs to profile for you this week. First, is Felix, who sadly has been at the shelter since March. BARC ID A884454. Felix only has 2 weeks left at the shelter. As you can tell from the picture, Felix LOVES the water! If you are looking for a water dog, here's your boy! He is great with other dogs and loves people. He had a great time playing with Grace (pictured below) for our photo session! He's about 8 months old, about 45 lbs. full grown, neutered, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Felix has a sweet mischievous grin and would love to be your best friend! For more information about Felix, contact Kathy at kdeffebach@sbcglobal.net.

Meet Grace, a sweet 6 month old lab mix. As you can tell, she loved splashing in the water as well during her photo shoot! Her coat is not as dark as it appears here while wet...she's light tan colored. Grace is your typical sweet pup who loves EVERYBODY she meets. She's at a great age for adoption because she is ripe for obedience training. Sadly, Grace has spent almost 3 months of her puppy life at the shelter and her time is almost up. She must be adopted by June 24th. Grace has been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. All she needs is a family of her own! For more information about Grace, contact Kathy at kdeffebach@sbcglobal.net.

SMALL BREED PUPS! We get lots of requests for small breed puppies so we wanted to show you these 3 cuties that are at the shelter right NOW! The vet estimates they will be about 30 lbs. when full grown. We are not sure of the mix, but we know they are about 3 months old and all are so sweet! Get to BARC as soon as you can to snatch up one of these cuties!

MEET CESAR! Cesar is a Golden Retriever/ Terrier mix about a two years old and 55 lbs. He is very laid back but likes to play too, extremely sweet, loving, loves people, and is very smart dog. He just wants to be around his human. He gets along well with both make and female dogs. He is great on a leash and is learning basic commands. He is crate trained but doesn't need to be in a crate. He is great in the house unattended. He is also housebroken. He is current on all his vaccinations, neutered and HW negative. If you can find it in your heart to adopt Cesar he would love to be your buddy. I think he would be great with kids based on his sweet, laid back personality. He likes his toys and plays well with my dogs. Doesn't seem to mind cats but don't know for sure. He sure likes to chase squirrels. If interested, Please contact Carla at 713-444-3012.

It's no shocker why her name is Beauty... This gorgeous girl is not only beautiful she's very smart dog and a fast learner. She is totally housebroken. Beauty would make a wonderful "best friend" and companion. All she wants is love and attention and she will never leave your side. Her foster mom has already taught her "sit", "down", "get in your bed". She is still working on "wait", "back" and "move" but she'll have them down in no time! She works great on leash and likes to go on walks. She would love to be in a house with a family and another dog that is about her size to play with. For more information, contact Carla at 713-444-3012.

As always, we have some darling foster puppies ready for adoption! Cuteness alert...beware!

Daisy is an Anatolian shepherd mix. She likes to play with other puppies but what she really likes is to hang out with her people. She will be a big dog but has a calm temperament. She loves the water and really loves cats. Daisy needs to be in a home where she will get plenty of love and attention. She is crate trained but not quite house broken. She is spayed and microchipped and ready for her new family. Contact Fran for more information at foyle67@hotmail.com.

Gatsby is a lab mix with all the great traits of a lab. He loves to play in the water and loves other dogs. He is laid back and easy going and just a little bit goofy. His big puppy smile will win your heart. Gatsby would really like to be in a home with another dog so he has a companion to play with. He is crate trained but not quite house broken. He is neutered and microchipped and waiting for the perfect home. Contact Fran for more information at foyle67@hotmail.com.

Pixie is the cutest, friendliest little beagle mix you could ever wish to meet. She loves every person and animal that crosses her path. She is very playful but gentle and is great with other dogs and cats. Pixie wants to be in a home where she will be able to follow her people around all day long and give them all the puppy love they need. She will be a small to medium sized dog, probably no more than 25lbs. She is crate trained and almost house broken. She is spayed and microchipped and ready to be someone's best buddy. Contact Fran for more information at foyle67@hotmail.com.

Vinnie may be small but he's a firecracker! With his little short legs we're guessing he might have some long haired dachshund in there somewhere, but whatever breed he is he will be a small to medium dog, probably no more than 25lbs. Vinnie is very playful and loves to run. He is an independent puppy but is also happy for you to carry him around. He knows what he wants and doesn't let the big puppies push him around. He will definitely charm you and keep you entertained! He is crate trained and almost house broken. He is neutered and microchipped and ready to take over in his new home. Contact Fran for more information at foyle67@hotmail.com.

Sing it with us.... "The wonderful thing about Tiggers, is Tiggers are wonderful things!" That couldn't be more true about this handsome brindle striped boy. Tigger is great with people and dogs alike. He's very easy going but playful and fun, too. He's also a loyal companion who would love to be part of an active family. His kennel card says he's two years old, but we think Tigger's still a youngster. He's a little skinny but he will be a big boy. Tigger's heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped and ready to go home today! His BARC ID is A888589. Contact Elizabeth for more information at evitek@yahoo.com.

WE LOVE LUCY! Here's another beautiful redhead to love! Lucy is a tall, thin hound type that looks a little like a Rhodesian Ridgeback without the ridge. This is the kind of dog you take to the park and people say, "Wow, what a gorgeous dog!" She is exceptionally well-mannered with people and dogs alike and will be a loyal friend. She likes to stay close to her human and share the love. Loveable Lucy is about a year old, heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped and ready for her new home today. BARC ID is A891051. Contact Elizabeth for more info at evitek@yahoo.com.

Hope & prayers that Felix and Grace find their loving forever homes QUICK! Grace only has until next Tuesday, Felix has a couple of weeks. SO SAD that this has to happen! I wish I could help, but sadly I'm at my limit. But I can pray for them and their new families! Hope & prayers for ALL of the beautiful babies who need homes! Second chance kisses are the best! You won't be sorry if you adopt! And you won't be sorry if you foster, if adoption isn't an option right now! You'll be blessed!

Grace now has a loving home. We adopted her Saturday and brought her home to spend the rest of her life with us. Our 8 month old lab, Molly, loves her new friend. Grace and Molly spent the weekend playing and swimming in their pool. She is so happy! Grace is the sweetest, most loving dog anyone could wish for. There are many more like her at BARC awaiting a good home.
