The 2008 Feeding Is Believing Program Visits The Houston SPCA on Saturday, May 10!

WHAT: The 2008 Feeding is Believing Program will visit the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to educate new pet owners on the importance of proper pet nutrition and will cover the adoption fee for the first 10 cats and dog adoptions. Local pet owners are invited to apply to become a Feeding is Believing 'Partner' and witness the power of proper nutrition first hand. All Feeding is Believing 'Partner's' will get a 30-day supply of Science Diet to manage their specific needs.

WHEN: Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: Houston SPCA, 900 Portway Drive, Houston, TX 77024

WHY: Providing proper nutrition is the single most important thing an owner can do for his or her pet's health. Unlike humans, pets can't make their own dietary decisions and taking the time to consider what you feed your pet can significantly improve their health. Various nutrients, such as high quality proteins, vitamins and antioxidants, can have a huge impact on common conditions such as a sensitive stomach, skin and coat issues or even more serious topics like joint, kidney and heart health.

New and current Houston area pet owners also have the chance to share and read testimonials about how proper pet nutrition has improved the lives and health of pets across the country at www.feedingisbelieving.com.

I LOVE that they are doing this! I cringe everytime I see someone with a bag of the REALLY CHEAP food! I've been fortunate enough to have great vets wherever I've lived who all agree on proper nutrition for your animal and who work to educate their clients on that. When I was in college, my cat ate better than me sometimes, and once went to her doctor before I went to mine when we were both sick at the same time! LOL! Like the article said, they can't make their own dietary decisions, so we have to do it for them. I for one try to ask a lot of questions of my vet because I have larger dogs, one of which is VERY active and another who is xtrlg! They need certain things in their diet because of that. I want them to have the best nutrition so that they grow properly, don't have health issues, and will live the best & longest life possible! I hope it's a successful event!
