Ruby and Sarah, pictured with this post, are two of the beautiful Cocker Spaniels who have been saved by Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas - Houston.

Sarah is a beautiful 10-month-old girl. Her coat is mostly black with just a little tan and a touch of white. She was taken by Animal Control from a home where she lived chained to the porch. She loves the freedom of her new foster home where she prances around, fascinated with everything she sees. She's already got the hang of the doggie door. She acts friendly to people, but she has not been tested with children or cats.

Ruby is a real jewel. Struck by a car, Ruby came into rescue with a broken pelvis, a few cuts, scrapes and in a lot of pain. With TLC and pain medication, she's back on her feet and wanting to romp. It's been a real challenge keeping this active girl quiet as she heals. She's somewhere between a year and a half to two years old, loves to run and play with toys. She's got a wonderful disposition and will make a wonderful addition to a home. Because of her injuries, Ruby needs a home without young, active children. Her recovery is still being monitored, so she's not ready to go out right now, but Cocker Spaniel Rescue of East Texas - Houston is accepting inquiries.

Cocker Spaniel Rescue does not operate a shelter and has no paid staff. They are a network of foster homes which provide love, shelter, transportation, grooming and food for Cocker Spaniels in need. Funds collected by CSR are used primarily for veterinary care, medication, and boarding. Cocker Spaniel Rescue is classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization.

Good luck Ruby & Sarah! I hope you both find your loving forever homes soon!
Thanks to all involved with the Cocker Spaniel Rescue who foster and care for these beautiful dogs. It's so wonderful that there are people who are willing to give of their time and money to care for any animal who is in need!

Thanks to Sarah's foster mom and dad for helping give her a chance at finding a loving forever home! I am a foster mom for Pals for Pooches - and it is a warm and rewarding feeling to help a furbaby find his / her forever family! She already has a brighter future (than she did living tied to a porch!) and its only going to get better and better!
