How sad that this young man lost his life. My heart and prayers go out to his family. I hope that they don't destroy the bear. He is a wild animal and there are always risks when working with them. As Ms. Richards said in the article, "they aren't cold blooded killers." They are wild animals. It's so sad what humans subject animals to and if they do something within their nature, they are destroyed. It's just not fair. I'm not saying the bears life is worth more than Mr. Miller's life, but Mr. Miller and other trainers know that there is always a risk in their job. They choose to do it anyway. I'm guessing that Mr. Miller probably wouldn't want Rocky put down, if he could say so. That's how I would feel. If that was my job, I chose to do it, I know the risks...don't put the animal down.
