Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank said at a press conference yesterday that the team was set to suspend their star quarterback Michael Vick before NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stepped in and banned Vick from training camp. "Prior to this, we were pursuing the maximum discipline, which is a four-game suspension," Blank said. "We had gone so far as to draft the letter. But the commissioner asked us not to take action until they completed their review." "This sort of behavior is really horrific," Blank said. "But these are charges. We have to let the legal process play out." I just read an article about the Falcon's reaction to Vick. It stated that they were willing to suspend him, but as we have already heard, the NFL Commish asked them to hold off their disciplinary actions until further investigations. Sounded like the Falcons are moving ahead without him and looking at Harrington as their starting QB, plus looking for a new backup QB. Also, his image wasn't even in the reel of highlights that they played at their annual season ticket holders luncheon! Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow! I commend the Falcons for distancing themselves from him and for their statement that they think dogfighting is horrific!
It is said that Mr. Vick is deeply saddened. I'm sure thats true. Unfortunatelly, It Appears, he is only saddened by the attention he has drawn to his Team Owners and perhaps his Teamates. Where is his sadness for the pain, the torture, the deaths of the DOGS he so DRASTICLY TORTURED. It is so unbelievable to me that Anyone could be so cruel. But I guess thats waht people are made of in this day and time. (which is truly not much)I wish It could be said that he did it because he was a man with no means of supporting himself, or he was hungry, or homeless, but a man with Millions (or the true possibility of)has nothing better to do than Torture Animals!! Mr. Vick, You owe evey person that owns, loves, appreciates the joy, has lost an animal to tragedy, that simply tore their hearts apart, an apoplgy. What is it that you LOVE Mr. Vick?? How would you feel if it were treated as you have treated these animals?? As much as I love Football, and you as a Quarterback, I wont be watching your team play this year if you are allowed to remain. As much as I hate to see a Black Man Behind Bars, It is sometimes necessary.
