Please join the campaign to ask the NFL to suspend Atlanta Falcons' superstar quarterback Michael Vick for his involvement in dog fighting. Michael Vick is scheduled to be arraigned in federal court on July 26. Keep the pressure on the NFL and Vick's corporate sponsors with a simple click of your mouse! Click on this link to e-mail the NFL hsus.org You can also call the NFL's public relations department at 212-450-2000 to voice your opinion. And, Nike stopped plans to roll out a new line of Vick shoes but they continue selling other Vick shoes. You can call Nike Consumer Services at 1-800-344-6453, go to nike.com or go through the HSUS website to send an email directly to Nike at hsus.org 5 CommentsLeave a comment |
I emailed Nike and thanked them for discontinuing the new shoe and asked them to stop selling other products already out with Vicks name on them. I have already signed the NFL petition and emailed them. I've emailed and written everyone I can think of about this! Dog fighting will not be tolerated!
Thanks, Melody!
I too had already signed and sent the email to the Falcons, and I have now also signed / sent the email to Nike! I too am thankful they did not roll out the new Vick shoe - now lets pull back all products endorsed by this inhumane person! And if Nike wont do that - then I say lets boycott Nike!
I have signed all the petitions and respectfully requested that his products not be sold and that he be suspended. What he, his friends and all those involved with this did was horrific, at best. Many people who are not involved with animal rescue don't believe me when I tell them about the "bait animals" used to train these dogs. It breaks my heart to see these dogs treated this way and to think of the countless lives lost in "training", the puppies, kittens, cats, dogs, rabbits, raccoons . . . all killed for a “sport” and many of these are peoples' pets that were stolen from their own yards. I hope I live long enough to see a world where animals are treated with love and kindness by all people and seen for the wonderful, miraculous creatures that they are. Animals don’t know greed, malice, hate, envy, they don’t rob, rape, pillage, start wars, car jack, etc. We could learn so much from them, but instead, so many people use them, abuse them and discard them as if they were trash. What a sad commentary on our world.
You are so right, Edna!! In all of what has been said and written about the plight of the pits, no one has mentioned the poor souls that I am certain he used for training! What a horrible horrible thing to do to sweet loving creatures!!
