Wildlife Rehab & Education (WR&E) needs volunteers to help care for orphaned and injured wildlife at its new state-of-the-art wildlife center near downtown Houston. This wildlife care center will service the public and wild animals in Houston and the surrounding counties in the gulf coast area. Volunteers will assist staff in the care of the thousands of wild animals that are received every year. Volunteers will help care for and rehabilitate these animals until they are ready for release back into the wild. Volunteers will also be able to attend continuing education classes related to the wildlife rehabilitation process, procedures to obtain the proper permits to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wild animals and other general information. Interested volunteers should attend a free volunteer orientation on Saturday, June 23, 2007 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Wildlife Rehab & Education Wildlife Center at 7007 Katy Rd., Houston, TX 77024. For details and to register, please call (713) 861-WILD. |
