Police in Los Angeles are searching for a pair of puppynappers.

The theft was caught on a home surveillance camera.

the men knocked on the family's door posing as buyers for pure-bred Yorkshire terrier puppies the family had for sale.

Once in the house, the men pulled guns and stole the four animals.

The puppies are worth $2500 each.

The family says they're most worried about the terrier that had been their pet for three years.

Unfortunately this is not uncommon. Many Yorkshire Terrier breeders have had similiar experiences of their dogs being stolen.

It is now being reported that all but one dog has been returned to the family. This incident is being discussed heavily on the Yorkie forums.

All the "facts" given at this time by the media don't quite add up. It will be interesting to see how this story ends.

This is a good time to remind people considering a Yorkshire Terrier that you should only consider reputable, qualified breeders when adopting this or any other pure bred dog. Backyard breeders, brokers, and pet stores never, EVER should be considered. Do your research! $2,500 for a Yorkshire Terrier by a hobby breeder is exhorbiant amount to pay.
