FORT WORTH -- A man who placed a dog in a washing machine and turned it on was sentenced today to a year in prison. 32-year-old Chad Edward Ellis, of Euless, had pleaded guilty to a charge of animal cruelty. He faced a maximum sentence of two years in prison. Authorities say the dog was scalded by the hot water before managing to escape. But she was caught and locked in a closet for several days. Eventually, a friend of Ellis’ found the year-old female black Labrador retriever mix and took her to a Grapevine animal shelter, where she was euthanized. A year in prison isn't enough for the cruelty that he did to that poor baby. Her suffering from burns for days in a closet, more than likely without food and water, is beyond horrific! If he did this to her, then he probably did a lot of other cruel things to her in her short year on this earth. I hope that he was also banned from EVER having another animal!
Before his jail time starts, I say follow the golden rule and do to him what he did to that poor furbaby!! And you are right, Melody, her life was probably terrible from the first day he had her!! Poor sweet soul!! Hopefully she knew a little love and a tender touch as she was put to sleep and sent on her way to Rainbow Bridge!! Be at peace - I will never forget you even though I didnt know you until your death!!
It is hard to even think what I should write. This is an example of the evil side most humans have. Yet they are called civilized and get away with a year's term. The problem with most people is whoever is not like them isn't good and also their selfish nature. As we talk now hundreds of animal are being tortured and killed at the whim of humans.
I dont know about hell or heaven after death but I do know that the little dog suffered all her small life in the hands of a sadist. And he should not get away with just a year's jail.
Sometimes I wonder where people come up with such rotten things to do to other living things. I can't imagine how much pain and fear this poor dog had before being put down. :-( I wish she would have known a loving hand before she died. Poor baby girl
This man needs to suffer the way he made that poor dog that I am sure did nothing but give unconditional love to. What a miserable SOB!! It is people like this man who abuses animals that I despise and hate!!

SERIOUSLY?!?! One year in jail???? This is just ludicrous!! Animals are people, too. Just because they can't talk to you doesn't mean they don't have feelings just like we do. If he did this to a year-old baby he would have life in prison. I personally think an eye for an eye sounds good. I hope he enjoys his year in prison and can't live with himself for what he did although I'm sure he feels no remorse. It's not like our legal system is really enforcing valid punishment....UGH!!!!!!!!
I could'nt belive it. Poor dog. Lets stick him in a washer and see how he feels. HUH... Its people like that which I HATE THE MOST!
D-I-S-C-U-S-T-I-N-G!
Again I'm sobbing over the cruelty of so-called "humans" to animals. After reading this and watching the evil teen who laughed after he tormented his pit into killing a cat! Look for these guys as out next "serial killers". They have serious problems and one year in jail is not enough. I wish I had plenty of $$ to spend on lobbying for more strict laws and sentencing on animal cruelty acts!
