Arrests Made in Horse Slaying

I'm not going to even comment on this because, really, there are no words to describe the pit in my stomach about this, or to rehash my complete confusion for some peoples' utter disrespect for a living beings. From KTBX.com up in Bryan-College Station, an update on a truly brutal fatal horse beating, killed by someone using a polo mallet and a golf club:

A pair of college students have been arrested in connection with the brutal slaying of a young horse. Blinn student Kenneth Peterson, 21, is charged with cruelty to animals and criminal mischief. Those same charges have been filed against Texas A&M student Walter Williams Jr., 20.

The rest of KTBX's entry is here. The Bryan-College Station Eagle newspaper has photos of the suspects and more of the story here. The paper quotes the horse's owner as saying, "I found her with her neck open... She was left there to die, and she had struggled for her life. There was blood everywhere."

Again, there are no words.

There are no words to describe the feeling that I have after reading this. As a horse/pet, owner/lover, the punishment that they face is not harsh enough! How insane it is that someone would brutally attack a horse because it "chased" them the last time they were in the pasture. What were they EVER doing in that pasture at all, at any time? My heart aches for the owner of that horse and for the horse itself. What a horrid thing for one of God's most beautiful creatures to suffer. He will judge them, a far worse judgement than our courts can give.

One thing you can always count on (sad as it is) is that people never cease to amaze me as to how wicked and evil they can be!!!!

I too am speechless Lisa. I can't believe the total disregard for a living, sentient being's life. Those two deserve the same fate as that horse. Also, I would suggest that we all write respectful letters to the DA's office asking that those two be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I am shocked by the brutality of this.
