The Houston SPCA is hosting a seminar next month called "Think About the Link," exploring the connection between people who abuse animals going on to later abuse humans. From the SPCA's website: I'm not going to even comment on this because, really, there are no words to describe the pit in my stomach about this, or to rehash my complete confusion for some peoples' utter disrespect for a living beings. From KTBX.com up in Bryan-College Station, an update on a truly brutal fatal horse beating, killed by someone using a polo mallet and a golf club: A pair of college students have been arrested in connection with the brutal slaying of a young horse. Colossus, just because he's big. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is hosting its first ever "Come, Sit, Commit!" blood drive. They'll have crates for your dogs while you'll donate... and donors will receive a Commit for Life dog collar or leash! Donating blood is incredibly important. It can be scary - I've been nervous when I've donated - but just as pets can help lower blood pressure, I'm sure having my dog nearby would make the w... For what it's worth, here is a story I heard from a friend of mine this morning that drives a school bus for CCISD. My friend said he heard it on the school bus radio. I haven't seen anything on the news or papers about it.
Apparently this happened yesterday (Wed) in Friendswood. A man shot and killed a dog in front of a bus load of kids waiting to get off the bus. The man, in civilian clothes, supposedly flashed a some kind of badge at the bus driver and then pr...
