EMTs in South Carolina literally had to pry off a python that had wrapped itself around a friend of its owner. (View the video here)

Police were called out after the snake became confused or startled. It bit a woman then wrapped itself around her abdomen.

An emergency medical technicial gently pried the ball python off the woman's arm.

The snake's owner says the python was shedding and can become aggressive during those times.

The woman that was bit may have to get a tetanus shot, but her wounds are very minor.

The snake was returned to its home, no worse for the wear.

I'd love some input from any snake owners out there. I figure any confused python would lash out - just like a scared dog could bite. Comments?
