I know this is two years old.. but if what happened then is happening now.. UGH.

I received an email that's being forwarded around about a dog in horrible, horrible condition that lived in Greece. He was a stray. He was injured on his mouth: a hoe there so big you could see his tongue and teeth right through it. The pictures made my skin crawl, and I will not post them here.

However, there are allegations that Greece has neglected and poisoned dogs before the 2004 Olympics. Again, the pictures and video are graphic. You'll have to follow the link to the In Defense of Animals website on Athens and the controvery over the alleged poisoning of dogs before the Olympic games of 2004. You'll find a letter there from Greece officials and other reports about what happened. Be aware that this is heartbreaking.

I haven't looked at the web-site in Greece, I think I'm afraid to see it.
