The need to help animals knows no boundaries, and help is needed all over the world. We may have criticisms of the American animal welfare system, but it's worse in other countries.
Romania Animal Rescue is fighting an uphill battle in that country to control the pet population and help homeless animals. I received this email this week:

Dr. Ileana has asked me for rolls of suture material and suture material with needles. RAR needs to help her as this is mandatory for our s/n program. You may purchase the material directly from Liz Vaughn at Jorgensen Laboratories (based in California, website here), or you may make a donation to RAR for its purchase. If you could make a donation for some suture material, the people of Galati would be very grateful, as it will allow Dr. Ileana to keep spaying and neutering street animals free of charge.

Dr. Jorgensen said that sizes 1,2,3 or 4 would be too large for small animal surgery, so I am only giving you the 3 sizes. Give me some quantities, and I'll get them typed up.
