I am so sorry to hear about Iteeka. She is a beautiful little girl. Continue your search and don't give up. You were so very wise to have a chip implanted in Iteeka. At some point, she will be scanned and returned to you. Have you faxed flyers to ALL surrounding vets with your flyer and ID Chip#? My daughter's "Georgia" broke free from her collar last week in Midtown (Houston), was hit by a car, and ran off. We had a positive sighting of her about 10 hours later, but are still searching. We know that she is out there somewhere, but still can't locate her. We feel very strongly that a concerned citizen picked her up, but hasn't seen our flyers with contact number. Unfortunately, Georgia is without a collar, and never had a chip implanted. Learning through our own tragic mistakes, I wish I could impress upon all pet owners to invest the small monetary investment of the microchip. We've also learned that perhaps harnesses should be used during walks rather than collars. Keep looking and DON'T give up. We have received several success stories of loved pets being returned. We are extremely greatful to Lisa Foronda for posting on her KHOU blog about our Georgia, a white German Shepherd. Thanks to her, it will increase our chances, as well as yours in spreading the word. We have learned how important it is for ALL to check ads, web postings, vets, shelters, and friends when the locate or sight a lost pet. Good luck!
