On Thursday 5/11 we received an urgent plea for help from an Angleton Animal Control Volunteer. A 10-12 wk old puppy had been brought in with severe injuries from an apparent run-in with a car. As we all know - our local animal control agencies are not equipped to deal with sick or injured animals and the normal course of business is to euthanize these animals. Through the efforts of volunteers we are seeing a shift in thinking and we're being contacted more and more about dogs in need.

His vet bills will come close to $1000. Our normal funding per dog comes directly from our adoption fees ($250.00) and won't come close to covering his expenses but our group will do everything in our power to raise the funds for his treatment. Lisa,

Is there any way you could post this on your main page? This little guy needs all the help he can get. Thanks so much!

I just wanted to extend my thanks to the ladies at STLRR! I am a shelter volunteer for Angleton Animal control...a tiny little facility run by the police department. Their ACO contacted me with a desperate plea for help on Buster's behalf...within minutes, STLRR responded that they would rescue him! They never once thought about the money or the fact that he might not be a purebred!
His injuries are extensive, poor baby! He appears to have been rolled under a car, and has severe abrasions over 70% of his tummy, inner thighs, and legs (I have the original photos - horrific!). He has an infected wound over the right ankle that exposed the bone and there is also a possibility of an abdominal hernia.
The treatment is tough for such a little boy-wounds need to be cleaned/debrided under anesthesia. He needs bandage changes until the tissue begins to heal and may need further surgery to close the wound. He needs daily pain meds & antibiotics, & if the swelling on his tummy does not go down, he will need to have the abdominal wall surgically examined.
All in all, Buster is blessed to have found STLRR ? he'll survive with only minor problems. The estimated cost of this treatment is $900-1000 and STLRR is doing everything in their power to heal baby Buster and make him a happy, carefree pup once more. Please help if you can!http://www.txlabrescue.org/donations.php
