The picture to the left is another example of a happy ending with "recycled" dogs. My friend, Jacki, and her husband, Ray, lost their Dalmatian Lazzie after a prolonged illness. They know they'll never be able to replace him, but they found room in their hearts for two more dogs who were ready to move right in.. Here's part of Jacki's email.. "Well, it's been an entire week since we lost Lazzie...the house just isn't the same without him. Tuesday, we received an e-mail from the Dalmatian rescue center...they had a 9 month old puppy that needed a home. We let them know that we were interested in two Dalmatians. Long story short, we now have two puppies to replace the one that we miss so much. Duke is two years old and is mostly white, Luna is 9 months old and full of spots. They are wonderful together! They have already turned the backyard into a racetrack...chasing after each other." I have to mention Loving Spots Dalmatian Rescue serves Houston, as well. In fact, you can find a list of area rescues here. If you're ready to add to your family, check with rescue first! 4 CommentsLeave a comment |
Hi Lisa
Could luck looking at all the wonderful, grateful goldens at the two rescue groups. There are so many goldens who are looking for a wonderful home and I know the one you pick will fit right in with Bailey! Connie and several of us are still searching for her lost golden Chewy so please say a prayer for her.
Congrats on your family members!! Another lucky family and 2 lucky dogs!!
And I am still praying for Chewy!!
Great to see your website. I lost my beloved white boxer, Bella Donna in October 04. She got our of our yard and we never saw her again. I had removed her collar as we had installed a new doggie door and feared she might get it caught. Hard lesson to learn. I ended up adopting from and working with Lone Star Boxer Rescue of Houston and Baytown Humane Society, both amazing organizations that I am honored to be associated with. So many babies, so few homes.
