The world's largest panda breeding center, the Wolong Panda Breeding Center in Sichuan, southwest China, has opened a "panda kindergarten." 16 newborn pandas, five girls and five boys, will live with each other in the "kindergarten" to live together for a year. The goal is to help the pandas find a mate more easily. The panda "students" have been adopted by people from China and other countries. As few as 1600 giant pandas are still alive in the forests of central China. They're threatened by a loss of habitat and a low reproduction rate. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
