This is an update about Zach, a Border Collie. Back in June, he was being transported by Continental Airlines, and boarded overnight at a Kingwood Pet facility. Zach got out and ran off. Despite a huge search by his worried owners (I blogged about it here) he was nowhere to be found.. until now. Here is Zach now, getting ready to make a holiday trip back home to his very relieved owners. Beside him is Mary Tipton, a volunteer rescuer for Twyla's Friends who helped capture Zach. She'd spent a week, along with another nice lady from Kingwood - Elena Borth - after someone called to tell them Zach had been sleeping underneath a dryer vent in Kingwood. Continental Airlines offered to fly Zach back home free.I'm waiting for happy reunion photos and will post them as soon as I receive them. What a GREAT Christmas present! 3 CommentsLeave a comment |
Lisa, the other lady in Kingwood may be Roni Edwards (Tereje@aol.com) She works hard for Twyla's Friends and helps me with rescue as needed. She and i have been "talking" about Zach.
Lisa, another "good news" story. On New Year's Eve day or so I got a call from a fellow church member saying he had been occasionally feeding a "spaniel" and wondered if I had suggestions. I gave him a few, and then E-mailed my friend Roni for help. She forwarded my note to Springer rescue, and to make a long story short, the dog and his owner were reunited!
Hi Lisa,
I'm the nameless? lady who helped Zach, having fed him twice daily from Aug.-Dec. Zach's story is much too long to go into. But long story short, he was previously captured in Aug. He could have been home at that time. Those responsible for the delay know who they are, what
they did and will have to live with themselves. If you are interested in the detailed truth, Lisa, I will be happy to provide the info to you so that this is less likely to happen to another innocent pet and family. I only by accident happened onto this site.
