From Kelly Cripe.. On Wednesday (9/21), Pam Harris with SNAP and I helped to evacuate several animals from BARC, including the dogs and one cat that were evacuated from New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. We will foster these animals, with the help of others, until they can be reunited with their families. Simon, a Maltese, has designated himself as "team leader" of the group. He might be the cutest dog that I have ever seen. I am humbled by the fortitude of these little dogs in light of everything that they have been through in recent weeks. These dogs survived Katrina, the trip to Houston, the Astrodome, weeks at a shelter and Rita! In spite of everything, they are adorable and appreciative house guests and I can imagine that their "parents" miss them terribly. I will keep everyone posted on how they can help these guys. I hope that others will consider fostering animals from BARC and will consider donating to the Friends of BARC organization. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

How do we help this lady and the exotic cats at this sanctuary?? Seems she is trapped in the sanctuary and quickly running out of supplies!
Dear Lisa,
What happened to Mr. Mack and his dog and 2 cats in Galveston, Tx. at The Antiqua Apts.? Is he ok and the family? Can you let us know on the news?
Sincerely,
Sharon
