The good news is this is going to be a short lived event. Snow this morning will turn to snow and rain early this afternoon. As the temperatures warm rain will wash away the snow by this evening. Precipitation will remain r... A nice break from winter today, mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 40s. Even the east winds coming out of the Columbia River Gorge will settle down. Peak gusts will stay under 25mph. The break will be short lived, tonight a cold front arrives from the north. Clouds will increase and Tuesday will be a fairly damp day. Snow levels will stay low and several inches of freshies will fall at local ski resorts. From Wednesday through ... Saturday will be a chilly and cloudy. Rain showers will be possible late in the day as a weak weather system arrives. No doubt about cold air arriving Saturday night. Modified arctic air will arrive from the north. Temperature Sunday morning will be in the 20s. Moisture will be limited but I think it's possible a few flurries will fall Sunday. No accumulation in Portland or the valley but the mountains may get an inch or two. Temperatu... Cloudy skies have returned to the forecast and so has a chance of rain. As a weak weather system moves across the region today we might see a few sprinkles Thursday morning . Drier conditions will come back Friday then things could get interesting. Expect milder but wet conditions Monday with rain showers and snow levels climbing to 5,000 feet. Showers will taper off this evening but the break will be short lived. A strong storm will arrive Tuesday. That storm will be windy and rainy from the coast to the Cascades with rainfall amounts reaching 1.5 to 2.0 inches.
Welcome to the new year, looks like mother nature won't give us a break. Rain, wind, flooding and low elevation snow. Anybody else hear hoof beats, from the four horseman of the weather apocalypse!
