Wednesday November 4, 2009
It's a clear and cool morning across the area today. East winds have been going overnight, so Portland has stayed in the upper 40s, while west of Portland we've seen temperatures fall into the lower 30s. This afternoon things will be more uniform, with partly sunny skies, high clouds and highs in the lower 60s. Tomorrow though, the weather gets busy. Thursday, the winds begin to back to the south as a strong storm gets ready to roll inland. Rain Thursday night will be heavy at times into Friday morning. Another storm renews the rain Friday night. Heavy snow will fall in the Cascades down to the passes beginning Friday night and lasting through the weekend. Large swells, 20-25 feet, will batter the Coast Friday and the weekend along with heavy rain and winds that may prompt coastal wind warnings. Right now there is a High Wind Watch for the central and southern parts of the Oregon Coast.
