October 12, 2009 Good Monday Morning from the First Alert Storm Center After a cool, breezy and sunny weekend the weather will hold steady today before big changes move in for tomorrow. It's also pretty darn cold outside so far today, with Freeze Warnings in effect for the central and southern parts of the Valley...basically from McMinnville to Eugene. Temperatures will be in the lower 30s, possibly upper 20s. Expect then partly sunny skies today with breezy conditions in the Gorge, and east of downtown. Those winds will be with us all day today, and also really into tomorrow morning. The winds will get stronger tomorrow morning as a fairly potent weather system moves onshore. That incoming weather system will bring fairly windy conditions to the coast, and very windy conditions to start in the Gorge. That wind in the Gorge will keep bringing the cold air in from the east. As the first push of rain moves in, it's possible some of that rain could start off as either freezing rain or snow before turning to rain very quickly. That's just the Gorge. The coast again though will be pretty windy with gusts near 50 mph. After this system pushes in we'll stay off and on wet for the rest of the week with highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
