September 2009 ArchivesGood Morning from the First Alert Storm Center There is no longer a Tsunami Advisory for any part of the Oregon coast or for that matter any part of the West coast. We did see sea level changes for parts of Oregon and the West coast. The highest sea level change happened at Port Orford Oregon, with a rise 6" rise in sea level. We had over one foot rises in California, but no major issues. Either way again there are NO Tsunami Advisori... Tuesday September 29, 2009 Good Morning from the First Alert Storm Center What a difference! Cool air moved in yesterday, we had plenty of clouds and yes even some rain. The Fall pattern is here now and will be with us for the rest of the week. We may even pick up a little dusting of fresh mountain snow...yup that's right. We're sitting in a cool and unstable air mass today, with temperatures struggling to get into the ... September 28, 2009, Good morning from the First Alert Storm Center, We're off to a cool start for parts of western Oregon. Skies stayed clear overnight after a beautiful day yesterday, but they won't stay clear for long. Look for big changes in the forecast today with much cooler weather and yes even the potential for some rain. This week will be a lot different than last week. Today there is a cold front offshore pushi... Friday September 25, 2009 Good Morning from the First Alert Storm Center Besides a little patchy fog and low cloud cover, overall today looks pretty nice. The sun will be out for most of the day and the temperatures will be warmer than yesterday. Enjoy the sunny and warm weather because conditions are going to change BIG TIME next week. Higher pressure is working its way back in today for that sunshine I mentioned. We d... Thursday September 24, 2009
The weather is much different today compared to the past couple, especially after the sunny and hot weather we've had lately. Thursday September 24, 2009 Good Morning from the First Alert Storm Center The weather is much different this morning compared to the past couple, especially after the sunny and hot weather we've had lately. Cooler ocean air is working its way into the area today, and temperatures will take a big dip. Today a really weak weather system is turning our wind pattern around. Instead of blowing from the land to the water, or... Wednesday September 23, 2009 Good Morning from the First Alert Storm Center It's the first full day of Fall today, and yet again it won't feel like it. In case you were wondering, we didn't break the record yesterday. The high was 92, and the record was 93...so we were off by one degree. Close, but not enough. Today no records either, but we are going to have hot and sunny weather. High pressure is still in control givi... Tuesday September 22, 2009
Say goodbye to Summer! Believe it or not! It will be hard to believe with the hot weather we have coming up today. The switchover officially begins at 2:18 PM, but again it won't feel like Fall with highs in the lower 90s. Higher pressure is still in control today, giving us plenty of sunshine and dry conditions. We also have east... Monday September 21, 2009

A little bit of fog this morning didn't get in the way of the very nice sunny skies outside. In fact the day is turning out very nicely with highs that will warm to hot. Wednesday September 17, 2009

Good Morning from the First Alert Storm Center Monday afternoon ended up being a really nice day with a fair amount of sunshine. Today we'll see even more, and the temperatures will bump up a little too. Then of course changes for tomorrow. Higher pressure, or calm and dry weather, is moving in today. We'll squeak out plenty of sunshine with temperatures in the low to mid-80s. Simple and nice. Tomorrow though things are changi... Today we're seeing just a little piece of a weather system moving over us. The main piece is pushing north into Washington where it is pretty wet. Here though, we'll just look for some on and off light rain at the coast, and maybe a few showers inland. The showers inland however will be very spotty, and there is only a slight chance. Highs today will top out in the mid 70s. Tomorrow the skies will clear pretty quickly, in fact after s... |
