Mixed weather for the weekend

11:49 AM Fri, Aug 07, 2009 |

 E-mail

It has been a cloudy day across the area today. We've had some drizzle at the coast, some showers in parts of the Valley, and even some rain near Troutdale and the Gorge. Most of those showers will continue to wind down as an area of low pressure in eastern Oregon keeps moving east.

The bigger story I think is the cooler temperatures. Cooler ocean has been filtering in. Yesterday our high hit 68, we'll be right near there again today topping out in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Expect some sun "breaks" but not a lot of actual sunshine. Mostly cloudy skies will be with us then the entire day.

Heading into the weekend it won't get a whole lot better. Temperatures will come up a few degrees, but the sun won't rule like last weekend. In fact look for partly to mostly cloudy skies both days, with a chance for some drizzle or even showers heading into Sunday morning. I do think the skies will clear a little Sunday afternoon.

In the long term the pattern won't change much, with morning clouds, some afternoon sun and maybe a light shower here and there. One thing is for sure, it's the weekend, so you have that going for you which is nice!
Have a great weekend!
