You know I love talking about and doing the weather. But not everyone knows that I sometimes escape from the First Alert Storm Center to do stories on the street. Before I took my meteorology classes, I got my journalism degree. So I guess you could say I'm a hybrid of sorts.
Tonight at 11, one of the stories I worked on hits the air. It's about what businesses do with our personal information we give them. We like to think they are careful with our phone number, our address and our social security number. But that's not always the case, as you'll see in my report.
In this day of identity theft, many I.D. thieves start stealing your identity by dumpster diving, where they find things that should never be thrown away. Things that businesses should've shredded, but did not.
By the way, if you know of any business that is careless with the personal information of customers or employees, drop me an email. In the meantime, I'll see you in the First Alert Storm Center...or...maybe out on the street!
