Have a question for Brian Westbrook at CES? Thoughts about the potential DTV shutoff delay? Have you found a secret back route to Seattle you want to share? Producer Aaron will be watching this thread during the show. As always, we give online viewers a behind-the-scenes bonus during Live @7: Here's the live stream with open mics during the breaks. It's not quite in sync with the TV broadcast, but you can try time-shifting your DVR by about 30 seconds to make it line up. A lot of conversation during the show happens on Twitter, so here's a Twitter search page to follow the show online. 7 CommentsLeave a comment |

why shouldn't people pay for DTV converters out of their own pockets? Was the right to watch TV guaranteed in the Constitution?
Until some sugar mama out there wants to buy me cable TV, yes the DTV switch affects me, but the delay doesn't. I already have my converter box.
Worst effect: Losing the ability to tape (yes, TAPE) one program while watching another.
I also don't care for how low reception works under DTV: Stuttering or frozen picture, rather than being able to still watch but with snow.
But, obviously, better than not having any TV at all. Your mileage may vary.
you expect us to believe in your "New Technology" when you cannot even portray it on TV
I'm ready for the switch and wish we could get it over with. My issue: KGW's broadcasting DTV on the 46 frequency (UHF) and I don't receive UHF very well. If I understand correctly, after the switch, your DTV will drop down to VHF (the existing 8 frequency) and since I do get the existing analog signal very nicely, hopefully, the DTV will work well too. But I won't know until the switch.
And a lesson from my work world - many people will learn only when you do turn off the Analog and doesn't matter how many PR spots you run, how much mail you send them, etc., etc. They will still be caught. I would think that most people who were going to get it without "being hit over the head" with it, have gotten it. So get the switch over!

It's because the airwaves are public property, so if being able to access that public property requires purchasing new equipment, there's an obligation to help people pay for it.
I think DTV will be okay and we are going on to a new level
With the funds depleted, you'd think all the stations would stop airing the PSA's with info on how easy it is to get your converter.
I'm ready for the switch already. Love the tiered channels (but more original programming would be nice)
