Special Session

Impressive run by the Gov on how the Special Session disproves that he has been dis-engaged...so Ron S comes back and tries to tag Governor with lack of leadership and scores points...

From what I can see the Gov won it all, the whole debate. The Oregonian should change it's backing

How is this a victory for Gov. Kulongoski? If this is a victory for Kulongoski, as a republican I look forward to a few more just like them.

The only form of success the governor can point to are taxes he failed to pass and budgets he managed to expand. Everything Kulongoski cites as an accomplishment involves additional dollars with no mention of oversight or actual result.

This in the debate plays into Saxton's hands. As Saxton says dollars don't equate success all Kulongoski can point to is expanding spending. With most Oregonians not experiencing any improvement in services (rather just additional cuts) claiming to expand spending with no results isn't exactly a reelection platform or anything close to a winning argument.
