Vance Day, Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party, will be blogging for KGW.com's "Talk of the Town" blog from the Republican National Convention, starting Monday.

Here's more about Vance:

As a volunteer Chairman and dedicated Republican, Vance Day spends his days as trial lawyer and partner in the Salem law firm, Adams Day & Hill, and his evenings and weekends as Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party.

Before going into law, Vance worked in communications in Taiwan. He also spent time as a television news producer and anchor for the nightly news hour of Middle East Television. Vance is the former Treasurer and Vice Chairman for the Oregon Republican Party, as well as an accomplished trial lawyer and a member of the Oregon State Bar, the United States District Court, the United States Court of Appeals (9th Circuit), and the United States Supreme Court. He has lectured on military history and leadership theory across the country, including the White House and Congress.

Vance was born and raised in the Willamette Valley and graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland. In 1984, Vance graduated magna cum laude from Warner Pacific College and was admitted into the Masters of Biblical Historiography program at the Institute of Holyland Studies in Jerusalem, Israel. Later, he attended Regent University's Master of Public Policy program. In 1991, Mr. Day earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Willamette University College of Law. Vance lives in Salem with his wife, Mattie, and his three children, Elizabeth, Daniel, and Justin.
