I reached the convention floor late on Monday afternoon. Howard Dean officially opened the convention for business at three o'clock, but most delegates skipped the opening and drifted into the Pepsi Center over the next hour or two.
The Oregon delegation is seated up high to the right of the podium. They're not the best seats in the house (somehow we ended up behind American Samoa and Guam, but it's a small convention center and so easy to move around the floor and mix it up with delegates from other states.
The two big moments of Monday's night at the convention were the appearances by Sen. Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama. Both gave strong, moving speeches that were well received.
