Dixon down... but Ducks not out!!
Devastating.... that's the one word that comes to mind! Ducks QB Dennis Dixon went down in the 1st quarter tonight at Arizona with what is being described as a "left knee sprain". Nobody was around Dixon when he went down... he tried to make a cut to his right when the knee buckled a bit. Now, that's the same knee that knocked him out of the last game vs. ASU. It appears Dixon is down for the night.... even possibly the season. That is the unspeakable truth of it. And, as I type this blog, Dixon's replacement (Brady Leaf)... just threw an interception that was returned for 6 by Antone Cason. Ducks now trail 17-11 at the start of the 2nd quarter.... but, more importantly, it appears (and I'll use that word loosely right now) that Dixon's collegiate career may be over--- all in a blink of an eye!

I am an Alumni of the University of Oregon BA 71, MA 73. I have been a Duck Football Fan for years. I find it difficult to believe that the University's coaching staff would allow Dennis Dixon to play in a football game knowing the full extent of his knee injury a couple of weeks before the game.Although I applaud Dixon's loyalty to the University and his Teammates.I would expect better judgement from the Coaches and Team Dr. Am I the only Alumni member who feels this way?
