Winterhawks.....an absolute mess!!

My first experience with hockey was attending an NHL Exhibition at Memorial Coliseum in 1991. At that time, I learned about the Winter Hawks. They were hot.....but not now! And certainly not after today's news. Dean "Scooter" Vrooman, the long-time voice of the Hawks (25 years to be exact), stepped down today. I've known Scooter for about 8 years now....and I know he's one of the hardest working guys I've ever known. A call placed to his office on Thursday said he has resigned and will no longer be checking voicemail from that number.
No Mike Williamson...and now no Scooter?? I was on hand the day the new ownership group held their press conference about a year ago. I drank the Kool-Aid they were serving up that day. But all I can think about now is how much they've royaly screwed up this once proud franchise. Are you kidding me, J's? (Jack, Jim and John make up the ownership group). You've got some 'splainin to do guys!!
How 'bout holding a press conference....and letting the public attend? I'm sure you won't be getting a stamp of approval by anyone.

Owner's had nothing to do with it IF you read Scoots comments, it was Dean's choice, he wasnt forced out or anything after 25 years of being on the road and all Dean said it was time for a change. His son is getting older, and oh yeah he has a wife that he wants to spend time with too!

I agree and here is an example of my interaction with the new owners.
I'm a previous 10 plus years season ticket holder who hasn't gotten tickets for this coming year. I for one am tired of watching games at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. My old season ticket seat was broken and ripped. Thank goodness there were no sellouts so that I could sit in another seat. I informed Jack Donovan of the broken seat at the start of last season and he said he would look into it. At the end of the season the seat was still in disrepair. I still plan on following the Hawks but I'm not interested in watching 36 home games at the old MC. If the new owners are really thinking hockey it's time to let the hawks play in a regulation NHL arena and not the old MC. It is my opinion that the new owners are just trying to make a bigger profit by playing hockey in the MC rather than promoting a quality product in a quality arena (Rose Garden).
