Earth to Bill Bavasi....HELLO?????
I can't even fathom why Mariners GM Bill Bavasi continues to "believe" in Jeff Weaver. How tired are you M's fans of these uncanny personel decisions? It's rather mind-boggling....and I'm a fan of a different AL West team. Each time I see Weaver as the "probable" pitcher...I wince! He's just a month into his Mariner tenure....and has lost all 6 games he's started. Plus, he's got a robust 14.32 ERA--highest among every starting pitcher in baseball. In a way, I feel bad for Weaver. I've never talked with him....but he seems like a nice enough guy. He's running out there every 5 games and competing....but he just doesn't have the right stuff anymore. It's time for a career change Jeff. Heck, maybe you can go back to being a guest bouncer on the Jerry Springer Show. That really happened...
Bavasi has been criticized for alot of moves....but he's the fall-guy here. Weaver is basically stealing money (1-year contract for 8.3 million)....and it's costing the Mariners potential wins.
