Brandon Roy
I can't think of too many athletes who get all hyped up and then are actually better than advertised.
Lebron James is one that comes to mind. He came into the NBA with more hype and accolades than any player ever. Come to think of it, any athlete of all time. But he delivered and will continue do do so.
Back to Roy.
Did you see what he did to the Sonics in his first pro game ?
Unbelievable.
There was a point in the game when his teammates, guys who've been in the league for a few years, were actually deferring to him
What does that tell you.
Here's a guy who thought of entering the NBA out of high schol. He not only went to college, but stayed for all four years.
Look at the type of player that he is in just his first pro game. He is NBA ready.
I asked him a couple weeks ago about his demeanor and the fact that he reminds me of Tim Duncan. He has the same confidence on the court and the same swagger.
He said it comes from playing at a big-time college and he feels playing in the Pac 10 really prepared him for the NBA.
After one game who can argue.

The Blazers played a lot like last year, ( assist to TO ratio was really bad) and, yet, Rice called it the best game in FIVE years, and, I believe him, Not only that, I read the paper today, Darius wont back for a long time..... So many small things happened in that game. zach called a time out when he was having trouble, he didnt stand around, things like that. The team seemed almost vetran. Im so excited!
