Where's the Beef ?
IT IS SURPRISING IN THIS DAY AND AGE TO HAVE NOT ONLY ONE BUT TWO COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAMES IN THE SAME WEEKEND NOT ON LIVE TELEVSION.
THIS WEEKEND NEITHER OREGON OR OREGON STATE IS ON LIVE T-V.
I UNDERSTAND IF, FROM TIME TO TIME, A BLAZERS GAME ISN'T ON T-V THEY PLAY 82 GAMES.
THE SAME FOR THE MARINERS.
IF THEY DON'T SHOW ALL 162 I'M FINE WITH THAT.
BUT WHEN COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAMS PLAY ONLY 12 GAMES EVERY GAME SHOULD FIND ITS WAY TO A T-V SET. IT SHOULD BE A PRIORITY FOR THE PAC 10 OR THE UNIVERSITIES TO LET THEIR FANS SEE ALL THEIR GAMES LIVE.
IT'S 2006.
SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL THESE HIGHER-UPS THAT TECHNOLOGY IS A PRETTY AMAZING THING THESE DAYS.
PEOPLE CAN TIVO PIVO ALL THEY WANT. BUT WATCHING A DUCKS OR BEAVERS GAME "LIVE" SHOULD BE MUST SEE T-V.

For the Ducks: Higher-ups=Chambers Sports/UofO?
I believe Chambers Sports of Eugene and their contract with the UofO may be the problem. They need to join the 00s and do more than replays the next day to select audiences. At least Eugene and Medford Duck fans can catch these replays, while only select (Comcast) Portland Ducks fans can catch the action afterwards. Hopefully whenever that contract is up, ALL Ducks fans can benefit from LIVE games!

I agree that local schools should be able to be on TV. Unfortunately, what we have is a very bad TV contract with FSN and/or ABC. Whatever ABC game is on at 12:30, that's all that can be shown because of "rights" to that particular TV window. The same thing happens with FSN. The only way for the Ducks to be on TV against WSU was to move the game to a very unfavorable 7:00pm. The Ducks had that option but the coach and AD did not want to do that to their players and I fully support that.
About the only thing we, as viewers, can do is to write to the Pac10 and insist that they do a better job when the TV contracts come up for renewal.

This from the Sports Director of the station who was, according to Yahoo, showing Veggie Tales and Chris Matthews as the Beavers were kicking off on Saturday. There's some must-see TV.
