Scoops Part 2
I've received a number of e mails regarding my previous blog entry. It has also been linked on http://www.oregonmediainsiders.com
First off, this wasn't a story with our national security at stake.
I have "broken" enough stories to know when to go with something and when not to.
Secondly, reporters hold stories for a variety of reasons. Most importantly to make sure they are 100 percent accurate. But for other reasons as well.
The TV business is about relationships as much as what the product looks like when it hits the air. I spend approximately 8 minutes a day on television and I put in 8 hour days. What does that tell you ? I treasure those people I who I trust completely and who trust me. They know who they are.
For those people who also think this was me patting myself on the back, not quite.
One of the reasons this blog was created was to give people a "behind the scenes" look at the TV business. That's what I tried to do.

Just so you know, Ron, *I* don't think you were patting yourself on the back or anything; I saw it as the "behind the scenes look" you intended it to be. When media people give those kinds of looks, I link to them because it's interesting. Lots of non-media people read OMI, I've discovered. We try to be a clearinghouse for stuff, not just a snarkfest. :)
