Ohhhhhh S-U

THERE ARE CERTAIN TRENDS IN LIFE THAT ARE VERY DISTURBING.

WHEN YOUR DOG USES YOUR LIVING ROOM CARPET AS ITS PERSONAL RESTROOM OR HOW ABOUT WHEN YOUR WIFE TELLS YOU SHE MET A REALLY NEAT GUY NAMED FELIPE AT WORK.

BUT THERE'S ALSO AN INTERESTING TREND COMING OUT OF CORVALLIS THAT BEAVER FANS SHOULD BE AWARE OF.

THE BEAVERS HAVE LOST 5 OF THEIR LAST 6 "PAC-10" GAMES AND THEIR POINT TOTAL IS GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE .

IT WAS A SIX POINT LOSS AGAINST THE COUGS THIS PAST WEEKEND... 13 AGAINST CAL... IN THE CIVIL WAR LAST YEAR JUST 14... IN A WIN AGAINST WASHINGTON THEY SCORED 18... 27 IN A LOSS AGAINST ARIZONA... AND 28 WHEN THEY LOST TO U-C-L-A LAST OCTOBER.

vs WSU 6-13 LOSS
vs CAL 13-41 LOSS
vs OR 14-56 LOSS
vs WA 18-10 WIN
vs AZ 27-29 LOSS
vs UCLA 28-51 LOSS

MATT MOORE SHOULD BE GETTING BETTER NOT WORSE. YVENSON BERNARD, ANTHONY WHEAT-BROWN, AND THAT OFFENSIVE LINE SHOULD ALSO BE IMPROVING.TIGHT END JOE NEWTON IS BACK... BUT THE NUMBERS SHOW.

THERE'S THE NUMBERS... YOU BE THE JUDGE

In a couple of weeks when I go to the next Beaver home game, I'm going to take a pen and yellow legal pad with me. I'm going to make 3 columns. One called "Screen Plays", one called "Draw Plays", and one called "All Other Offensive Plays". I'm going to keep track and put a check in everytime they run a screen, a draw, or some other type of play in their respective columns. My guess is when I total it up and average it out, it will come up 80% screens and draws, and 20% other plays. Why the Beavs are scoring fewer and fewer points is quite simple. Their offense is too predictable. Defenses are waiting for screens and draws which for some reason Danny Langsdorf keeps calling and the offense simply cannot move the football. In my opinion the problem is not completely Riley or Moore. It's the offensive coordinator and the lack of big time athletes. What this team seriously needs is a new recruiting coordinator. Someone who specializes in drawing recruits interest to the University. If other teams in the Pac10 can do it, then we ought to be able to as well. This team consitently wastes scholarships on JUCO transfers. Here's three names for you. Edorian McCollough, Aaron Miller, and Nate Wright. 3 guys who were brought in, and never even contributed. Miller didnt even play a down. Sometimes I think we ought to join the WAC or Mountain West where we could be competitive. But that wont happen, we all know that. I hate to admit it Beaver Nation but we're on the fast track back to the Pac10 cellar.
