A win is a win for OSU

I've heard several people say what a boring game the Sun Bowl was, however, by the middle of the fourth qtr...those same people were glued to the TV watching and hoping the Beavers would pull out the victory. A win is a win...even if it is 3-0.

Not every game is going to be a classic...but one thing about the Beavers is they get it done in the post season. Two years ago I covered the Sun Bowl when the Beavers s...

Here's to You Mr. Robinson...

How can you not feel good about the turnaround that the OSU Men's Basketball team is enjoying right now? Maybe Duck fans aren't overly thrilled, but it's certainly some great exposure for the Beavers hoop program. So, they've won 4 games in a row. I know, it's not against some of "the upper echelon" teams...but baby steps are good.
I just think that whatever Craig Robinson has going... keep it up! OSU may not make a lot of noise ...

Ducks pay tribute to Former Teammate

This is a special week at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. It's special for the Ducks and the family of former Duck Todd Doxey.

Doxey grew up in San Diego and was a star football player at Hoover High School. Todd went to Oregon...and was a Redshirt Freshman Defensive Back for the Ducks. This past summer he died in a drowning accident in Eugene.

The Ducks have paid tribute to their former teammate all s...

PSU Shocks Everyone But Themselves...

Let's be honest...nobody gave the Portland State Vikings much of a chance against 7th-ranked Gonzaga on Tuesday. Even as a proud Viking alum...I would have put my money on the Bulldogs. Gonzaga entered the night having won 55 of the 57 games they've played in the McCarthey Center. So, nobody thought PSU would leave "The Kennel" with a win. But they 'woofed' their way right past said Zags.... and beat a ranked ...

It's Official...Raiders Are The Worst!

Adam Bjaranson

Every fan of the Oakland Raiders will agree.... nothing will change until Al Davis relinquishes control of the team. I've never seen a football team (can we even call them that?) with less of a reason to show up on Sunday's. How they managed to win 3 games this season is beyond me. And their 2 of their 3 wins are against possible playoff teams (Denver and NY Jets). If it sounds like this is a moment for me to vent.... IT IS! Oakland'...

It's a Wonderful Life

KGW aired the movie classic "It's a wonderful life" tonight and more than 60 years after it first played...it's still fantastic.

And things are fantastic here in the sports world with the holidays coming. The Blazers lost a pair of heartbreakers this week...but the excitement level of Blazers basketball is high right now.

It seems every game is a thrill a minute and this team is just scratching the surf...

Pac 10 is Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood

Osu Running Back Jacquizz Rodgers was named the Offensive Player of the year in the Pac-10 today. He was also named Freshman of the Year. In fact, he is the first Freshman to ever win the Offensive Player of the Year Honor. Rodgers rushed for 1, 253 yards this season to set a Freshman record and he sat out nearly all of the Arizona game and missed the Civil War.

Beavers Head Coach Mike Riley was named the Pac...

BCS is full of Bull Games

Florida is playing Oklahoma for the BCS National Title in college football. It should be a great game and I'm looking forward to it. However, they really should come up with a better system.

I understand that Bowl games are tradition and they are great for football fans. I've gone to a number of Bowl games around the country over the years...as a fan and reporter and they are great fun. I remember freezing d...

Timing is Everything...

The Washington Huskies have their guy! Current USC Offensive Coordinator Steve Sarkisian won't admit it publicly... but numerous national sources say that the 34-year-old former BYU quarterback has been offered the job.
Funny that all this happens roughly 48 hours after Chip Kelly-- agreed in principle-- to take over for Mike Bellotti once he steps down at Oregon. I'm curious if the Huskies had Kelly as a serious target--and really, ...

Bellotti To Step Down As Ducks Head Coach

8:12 PM Tue, Dec 02, 2008 |
Adam Bjaranson

I'd like to say that I'm shocked... but I'm not. Mike Bellotti is stepping down as Head Football Coach at the University of Oregon.
This has been rumored to be in the works for a couple of years now.
But no need to worry Duck fans... Bellotti isn't going far.
He will eventually be taking over as Athletic Director.
Here's the rub with all of this. We have absolutely no idea on when this will happen.

Roy Gets Western Conference Honors

For the third time in his brief NBA career, Blazers guard Brandon Roy was named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Roy led Portland to a 4 and 0 record.... averaging 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game.
You can't say enough positive things about how Roy carries himself as a professional athlete these days.
With the news in NY about Marbury and Plaxico.... Roy is simply a breath of...
