It’s clear that the Democrats have won a majority in the US House of Representatives. There are already 20 clear pick-ups of Republican seats and currently, no Democrat is falling behind. There are still approximately 2 dozen races that could increase this margin.
It is clear that we have been able to harness the desire for change and that the hard work of thousands of men and women across the country is making a difference. This will probably be my last blog entry tonight as I am about to get caught up in a series of media interviews and thanking key volunteers. I cannot, however, convey my sense of excitement for the opportunity to see profound change in the way the House of Representatives will operate. It is gratifying to know that despite the money, the vicious campaigns, the redistricting shenanigans and the continuing drama to get your vote counted, the American pubic has been heard tonight.
